Yellow all over ;(

How do you get yellow jackets out of your air ducts in your home? I'm talking my home is filled where they are coming in all passages from any duct work outside into the house. I know we have had a dry summer be come on.

You all have a good rest of the summer what is left out there. I can not wait until my kids go back into school...it will give them something to keep their minds occupied.

Been Awhile

Getting back into it again and having a ball. The weather around here is changing almost daily in Upstate NY now that summer ...yeah right...is here ;)

You can't count on anything to do outside right now listening to the weather folks. Where else can you get paid a decent salary which won't change that much, where whether you are right or wrong you still get paid? I guess that's probably why I like the movie GroundHog Day so much.

Well yeah I'm back into making home made Beer all over from scratch again and having a blast. The day before our nations birthday. The recipe will be called All American Pail ****ailment made with some fresh hops homegrown from a buddies field up here in Pavillion, NY. It should come out rather Tasty.

I'll let you all know.

Have a good Fourth of July!

The other things I got going on are my Tomatoes are starting to come in finally. Yeah Baby in an upside down Topsy Tury I thought I'd give a try. It is starting to work.

Times Keep A Changin'

I look at how my kids have it made today vs how I had it back in the day. Looking back now it makes me smile....we let em off easy. I remember when my Grandma had me do the dishes one time and said you have to use a little bit of elbow grease to get those pans clean and I was looking all over underneath those darn cupboards for that bottle of Grease. Perplexed looked and all, I just couldn't understand why my MOM and Grandmother were laughing so hard at the time. Now I smile and try to get my kids to think about what they do and say before the words spill out of their heads into a verbal dilexia and into a random mess. Life is funny, but it is well worth the trip.

Enjoy Your Week!

What Do You Know?

Surprise....kids and how they are. Waking up early on a Saturday morning and wanting breakfast any ole way. Well, I figured we'll give'm something different for a change. How about fresh pork sausage made by me and fresh blueberries (of course from WalMart) cause I'm not near the baug around here. Wish we were cause I could teach my kids about the Black Bears in the Adirondacks or Catskill region of this great state of ours. Been up there enough.

No sooner do I put the Blue Berries Out in a bowl.......Then my son goes OOOOeeeehhhhww thats gross I don't like those. He has never even tried a blueberry in his 4 almost 5 year old life. I told him he must try new things all the time growing up........give it a shot at least once......if you don't like it then kick it to the side, curb, alley.......forget about it.......dust in the wind.

My daughter on the other hand, leader of the pack, tells him everything to do. "Don't do it!" and he will listen every time. Inseparable especially when they do alot together...great siblings.

Today was LUCKY BREAK the two of em were separated and my son tried the blueberries actually had three of them and decided they are not for him.

Having FUN raising the two of my kids at the great ages of 4 almost 5 and an 8 year old who thinks she's 16.

See ya soon

Such a Windy Day

Coq au Vin...what a mouthful and delish. Last night just having a casual conversation with my wife while we were putting everything together, the chicken decides to take a turn towards the bad :(.

A recipe I'm familiar with but haven't made in quite a while loven the Pinot Grigio. I think it all started when my wife was on Facebook saying how her Mom was a Cancer survivor and I made the comment my Mom isn't. Man I felt a foot go right up my butt right after the comment left my lips. I should have never thought it. The chicken as it was browning turned black on the stove top and black smoke filled the kitchen. Mom.........I know your still around and watching over us.....

Everyone will be over again to enjoy Coq au vin coming up soon. You gotta Love it

May the spirits of Good fortune follow all you out there around in the coming weeks! :)

Thanks for keeping me in your thoughts and welcoming me to the World of BLOG.

Lamb For Easter

Every year we visit one place or another for the annual dinner of Easter. One plate that is served is almost always is the Easter Lamb served succulent with Garlic cloves everywhere.

This is the year I'm the lucky guy who gets to make it and dear old mom won't be helping out; but, only in spirit. I am so used to cooking everything in the smoker and making Brisket this way and that..........That Lamb's going to come out like a Beef barbeque or a pulled pork.

It will all be good any way it goes down as long as we all gather together for the supper and have some laughs and share some drinks.

Have a Good Easter!

Starting to Get On

Words Not Spoken

Through good times and bad memories to last a lifetime
Life gives many a task one in which all will not pass
But our friendship has proven time and time again
That we will be there for each other...till the end.
Family exists in one's heart
Ones that no one can tear apart
You are one that can not be replaced
An individual...a shooting Star
One that will go very, very far
I never imagined us so far apart
But I guess i knew in my Heart
That our paths someday would part
You've helped me grow and learn
To think twice before I turn...and bridges burn.
Even though things sometimes were rough
You never turned away or said that's enough...and I thank you.

-Julie M. Conrad

As this week progresses and time marches on, it is kinda tough to realize and appreciate what you have until it is almost gone. Don't take Life for granted. It is way to short. I have come in contact with a lot of long lost friends over the past few months I thought fell off the planet, but were just around the corner. This poem my little sis wrote was so beautiful for my MOM and she adored it when it was written so many years ago. I know we still have some closure with this week to finish up...

Here is my first!

Had a rough today my Mom passed and has risen to Dance with the Angels. God is smiling with the Family as we are all gathered and staying strong for one another.
